Picture this, you have a client that has left his address without notifying you of their new address. Typically the client will continue to pay for a small period to give them a head start and the BANG, no more payments the client is now a debtor and Gone No Address (GNA).

In most instances they are receiving the mail you send and sending it back GNA, they know you are going to put this account in the too hard basket because this has happened to them before. You do the basic steps of location but it turns up nothing.

What do you do now?

At Searchcom we believe that most people want to pay their bills they are just scared of the consequences so they hide. this provides an opportunity for those businesses that utilise the Searchcom services as more than likely you will not be the only Creditor that is looking for them.

Remember the cliche's "The early bird catches the worm" and "The squeaky wheel gets the oil", well in this case the Creditor that places demand first on the debtor that is GNA will get the lions share of the cash, whether it be via the courts or old fashioned face to face negotiation.

It is important to stamp your authority on the process and make the debtor aware that you are not just going to give up when they move without telling you, that there will be a consequence of not paying or advising you of the change in their circumstance. You need to re-educate the debtor and ensure that you are the first port of call if they cant meet their commitments or plan on moving.

Used in conjunction with our location services or as stand alone services our Field and Legal teams are happy to assist you with this escalation of the collection process, ensuring that a re-education process occurs with your debtors, changing their behaviour to pay you first.

Location & Stand Alone Services

Searchcom has developed a Australasian coverage of Field and Recovery agents that execute activities from the basic door knock to demand payment, repossessions, document services or fact finding visits for businesses and/or financial institutions. Our Field Team can assist in the recovery or collection of debts from those debtors that are hard to contact by phone or continue to break promises.

Throughout the collection process our agents can be utilized. It is important that the debtor is aware that if they do not want to negotiate over the phone they will get a visit face to face from one of our agents. Negotiation on the door step is what our team does exceptionally well with results exceeding our clients expectations.

By incorporating our systems and technology into the process we are able to supply you with real time reporting, ensuring you are aware of the activity when it happens, not a week later.

Our agents are directly related to Searchcom, this allows us to control the process and micro manage the agents on a job by job basis. This ensures that we are in control of who does the work and that they are trustworthy and reliable. Other agencies tend to outsource this process which is a risk to the public perception of your brand if the agency used employs roughhouse or stand over tactics.

Prior to any field work being undertaken proper KPI`s will be developed to ensure that all parties are aware of their responsibilities throughout the process. We want to ensure that the agents execute the jobs to your expectation not theirs.
